Jess Smiley- Community Outreach Coordinator
At Thrive, Jess is able to connect her love of body therapies with her passion for community. She contributes a unique background in health and wellness with a positive, down to earth disposition. Raised in a small town in Oklahoma, Jess had an overwhelming desire to broaden her horizons. She moved to California shortly after high school, where she studied yoga and massage therapy. After experiencing the benefits in her own life, she knew it was something she wanted to share with others. She traveled to Thailand and obtained certifications in Thai Yoga Massage and Reflexology. This changed the way Jess approached body work, and highlighted the importance of movement and stretching. She went on to receive her 200 hour yoga teacher certification at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas. Craving to deepen her knowledge, Jess moved to Arkansas, where she studied Kinesiology at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and advanced yogic studies at Circle Yoga Shala in Jasper. She fell in love with the natural state, and decided to put down roots. She spends her free time dancing to live music and enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings.
